Apparently, Canada got inspired by SOPA and PIPA to do their own bill with Bill C-11, allowing Canadian media companies to do the same thing.

From what I understand, this ACTA (Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement) bill would allow the government to track what you do online and gives them free reign to arrest you.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Invasion of privacy much?! Based on other parts of the bill, it'll put a sting in trade, which could be deadly for specific medicines across the world. And most of this was done behind the public's back, of course, which is what I'd imagine would go on in government offices anyway, all in the name of encouraging the opposite of what it was supposed to do.

American Censorship Bill

Now, I am a Canadian, so this shouldn't affect me a lot, but it does. I love the site That Guy With the Glasses, and so I don't want it to shut down or anything, so naturally this upsets me quite a bit.
Now I'm not a law specialist, but it bugs me for several reasons. For one thing, haven't these people heard of free speech, and how this would limit it? Second, fair use anyone? Third, people enjoy the entertainment these videos provide (if the site is a video site). Fourth, if we have to download stuff, it's usually because we can't purchase the product legally (game soundtracks come to my mind).
